FAQ

You can learn more from our asked questions

GPS tracking devices use the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the precise location of a vehicle, person, or other asset to which it is attached. The position is recorded at regular intervals and is transmitted to a central database using a cellular (GPRS) modem embedded in the unit. This data is sent to our Tracking Portal and allows the location to be displayed on a map in real-time or over a span of time.

Vehicle tracking can automate your vehicular administration by scheduling service, recording working hours for your crew and how much travel they did (record miles traveled). You will get real-time response and information so you can make decisions on the fly based on verified information and not only your gut. Accurate vehicle monitoring empowers your drivers and makes them completely accountable.

The  device installs easily in your vehicle by simply plugging in to your OBDII port. Depending on your vehicle, some larger commercial trucks require an additional harness. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding the installation of the device.

As our GPS watches work on a mobile network, there is no range. s long as the watch is connected to the cell phone network, you can interact with it - across the street or halfway across the world!

GPS Trackit fleet management solution is powered by Google Maps -- the most accurate and consistently updated mapping system in the world.

Considering many risks that surround us it is important to be insured.

AA GPS antenna is connected to a GPS Trackit unit with a lead wire or plug and play device to the object (vehicle, trailer, or asset) to be tracked. Using the antenna, the GPS Trackit software transmits the trilateral satellite location data to the unit. This unit can detect and process events like hard braking, hard turning, and the crossing of specified speed thresholds. This information is relayed to GPS Trackit’s secure servers, where it is processed and delivered to authorized parties (dispatchers, fleet managers, etc.). This enables authorized users to view events and locate vehicles, trailers, and other assets in real-time (and on any device) with the fleet management dashboard.

Battery life is dependent on usage, but rest assured that even with heavy usage, our battery will last the entire day. And while its very possible that our battery could last 2-3 days, we strongly recommend charging it nightly, just to make sure.

Fleet management is a detail-packed job for managers and drivers alike. It’s crucial to log data such as hours, fuel used, and job progress throughout the day, every day. However, keeping track of all these details can suck up valuable time and money. This is why fleet management software is so useful. With the right system, managers can know where their fleet is at all times. They can easily learn more about each vehicle’s location and fuel use at a moment’s notice, even tracking driving habits like speeding and harsh braking as well. Drivers can also rest easy knowing that their data is automatically logged.
